Our
president, Dr. R. Janardan Rao, at the request
of his son working for World Bank, visited Washington
D.C and stayed with his family for a couple of
months. This gave him an occasion, to refresh
his energy after the bereavement of his wife.
This is his second visit to US. He also visited
N. Carolina to see his friends and relatives,
He visited again places of interest like White
House, Pentagon, Capitol Hill, Lincoln Memorial
etc. Now our president at 74 is again at his editorial
desk of 'Bridge'.
In former days both our president and his wife
used to pay visits to the families of MD's and
acquaint themselves with their problems. Now
our president alone visited Eepurupalem, Renigunta
and spent time with them. And sad to note ever
since his visit we have lost one member at each
of this place
On Diwali day our president, his son and grand
sons and I visited a MD patients T. LaxmanaRao
(22) and gave him gifts of fire crackers, and
sweets. Though immobile, the boy was helping
his adopted mother by his earnings about Rs
10/- per day doing rolled gold work at home
as a cottage unit. As the boy is not getting
his handicapped pension, we enquired about the
steps he had taken and gave phone calls to the
village officer who kindly promised to see the
matter through. Sri Ramesh principal Krishna
veni I.T.C. presented him with a shawl.
We Thank him.
Sometime back in Kolleru Lake, in an island
we visited a fishermen family having four MD
sons. We visited them twice and presented them
with the gift of a black and white used T.V.set.
We also used to send them some virtamin tablets.
Now of the four one MD son only is alive. And
he is using the TV set. Sri K.G.K. Murthy sent
him a pull over with sleeves for winter and
the mosquitoes. May be a small gift but it is
of help to him.
There was a problem between a MD boy and his
father with accusations leveled against each
other. Sri V.K. Arunachalam visited the young
MD at Chennai, and helped him with his good
counsels. Thank you Mr. Arunachalam.
